Package for Calvin

A few weeks ago my mom called and asked if it was okay for Calvin to have gum (when she came to visit in August she let Calvin chew about 6 packs of gum...and I did not think that was the best idea).  I told her it was fine... he does really well with it, I just don't want him chewing it from dawn till dusk :).
At the beginning of this week, Calvin received a package in the mail.  He was out playing with friends when I told him about it.  He stopped what he was doing and excitedly ran inside to open it.  Grandma Barber had sent 2 packs of Extra Dessert Delights Orange Creme Pop gum, 2 fruit snacks, 2 fruit roll-ups, and 4 squishy animals.  You should have seen Calvin's face!!  I'm pretty certain he felt like the most important kid on the planet!!  He was very good about sharing the gum with his friends but wanted to keep the fruit snacks just for him.  I told him that was okay since it was special from Grandma.  He is always very good at sharing so it wasn't a big deal.  THANK YOU GRANDMA BARBER!!!!  BEST GRANDMA EVER!!!  (And I really mean that!!)

Build and Grow at Lowe's

Our friend Becca told us about this workshop at Lowe's.  Today the kids built a Ghoul Bus.  Calvin actually had a lot of fun.  I helped him put the pieces together and held them while he did all the hammering.  He put the stickers on wherever he wanted :).  I loved the looks I was getting as he accomplished one step at a time...huge smiles, big wide eyes, and standing tall!...I could tell he felt so proud of himself!!  Way to go Calvin!!!
It was very loud with all the hammering, but Jordan sat happily in my lap the whole time, watching his big brother!!  I've said it before and I will say it a million times again, I REALLY have the most amazing boys!!!

Orem Utah

We are pretty much settled into our new apartment in Orem Utah.  It is a wonderful apartment and I absolutely love it!!!  We have terrific neighbors that Calvin loves to play with everyday.  Having so many nice children around is a dream come true!!
We moved here from Provo in August because our lease at our last home (426 N. 700 E.) was up.  We moved up here in hopes to get back into school last year, however have discovered that getting into school here is not a possibility (because Lyle already has his undergrad in Business Management...not engineering).
Lyle is currently applying to schools (he's hoping to get into ASU) so whenever we find out where he gets in, we will be moving again.  It is a bittersweet thought for me.  I can't say I love it here in Utah, however I LOVE our new apartment and was hoping to stay here until we were ready to buy a house.
Wherever we end up will be great though, my boys keep me smiling and entertained no matter where we are :).

Kangaroo Sore

Calvin got his first Canker Sore this week.  He hopped on the computer with me trying to find remedies.  We found several: Drink lots of water, eat yogurt, swish with salt water, dab a baking soda/water solution on it...the only thing he will do though is eat yogurt :).  He has been telling me "my Kangaroo is hurting mom."  It took me a minute to realize he was talking about his canker sore :).  Needless to say, we have had a very grumpy couple of days :(.
