Tender Mercies

2013 was a year of many challenges (well...that is life, but this year was more full than usual).  My appendix burst, then got re-infected so I was in the hospital for 10 days. Calvin broke his foot.  Lyle was changing a tire and the car fell on his hand.  Lyle got hit by a car and totaled my Corolla.  Those were some big hits.

2014 has been just the opposite. We bought out first house this year!  That has come with so many miracles in and of itself...many of which are very personal so I write those in my journal.  The ward here (Sherwood Park) has been amazing!  There are many service opportunities here...it has been an incredible blessing!  Within the first few weeks Lyle got called as the Elders Quorum Secretary and I was called to be in charge of setting up dinners for missionaries.  WHAT A GREAT OPPORTUNITY to get involved in missionary work!!!  I was able to go with the missionaries to a few discussions...what a wonderful experience!  Missionary Work and Family History work has become most important to me because I know if we focus on them as a family, that will guard us from Satan!  So essentially leading to our Salvation!
